The 2010 Florida State Fair opened today, Feb 4th, and will run through Monday Feb 15th. Take in the fun, the rides, the food, the animals, and Cracker Country!

The POPFlorida website now supports being viewed/accessed using a mobile phone that has browser capability. This feature eliminates displaying photos and other images.

Praise God! Geoff & Sue arrived in Tampa on Saturday with time to spare before our Lord’s Day Dinner celebration in their honor! It was a great evening of fellowship. We decided to welcome the Kelleher’s with some traditional Florida foods … including Sangria, spicy Shrimp, Plantains, Paella, Key Lime pie, and Guava & Cheese desserts.

The Ganther’s revamped their dining room and living room to make space for 4 tables with lot’s of Gasparilla beads and Florida beach decorations. We opened with several songs of praise, and after dinner we turned the floor over to Geoff and Sue to share with all of us about how they ended up in Tampa. The key line that Geoff said was: “We are home here in Tampa”.

Our 2010 Men’s Retreat was held at Bethany Retreat Center in Lutz (north Tampa). It was a great weekend, combining good food, good meditations, good fellowship, and even a live crawfish (mudbug) thrown in for good measure!

We just wrapped up a wonderful weekend with Kevin & Dorothy. The Saturday evening branch wide Lord’s Day dinner was rated F — for fabulous fun, fellowship, and food. We ended the evening with a prayer meeting. At the Sunday branch meeting, Kevin R. shared about community growth throughout POP, the latest on the Missionary Company, Trinity School, and more.
